LED dimming control technology

Are all LED lights dimmable?

No, not all LED lights are dimmable. A dimmable LED bulb requires a built-in dimmable driver to safely adjust brightness. Installing a non-dimmable LED bulb on a dimming circuit may cause flickering, buzzing, unstable performance, or early bulb failure.

In many cases, standard incandescent dimmers are not ideal for LED bulbs because they often require a higher minimum load. For smooth and stable dimming, Tecolite dimmable LED bulbs should be paired with compatible LED dimmers, trailing-edge dimmers, or tested smart dimming systems.

Triac dimming uses phase-cut control through existing electrical wiring, making it a popular and cost-effective solution for retrofit LED bulbs in residential, retail, hotel, and hospitality projects. 0-10V dimming is more commonly used in commercial lighting systems or fixtures with compatible control modules and low-voltage signal wiring.

Yes. Tecolite offers standard Ra80, high CRI Ra90, Ra90 (HO), Ra95, and Ra98 options for selected dimmable LED spotlight bulb models. Standard Ra80 is suitable for general lighting, while Ra90 and above provide more accurate color rendering for hospitality, retail, galleries, museums, restaurants, and high-end residential projects. Ra90 (HO) is available for applications that require both high color rendering and higher light output.

Flickering usually happens when the LED bulb, dimmer, and circuit load are not properly matched. Common causes include dimmer incompatibility, unstable input voltage, or insufficient minimum load. Tecolite can help customers select compatible dimmers and test dimming performance before bulk orders.

Buzzing or humming is often caused by circuit resonance between the phase-cut dimmer and the LED bulb’s internal driver components. Tecolite dimmable lamps are engineered with high-quality electronic filtering circuits to reduce audible noise and deliver stable, quiet dimming when paired with compatible dimmers.

Most Tecolite retrofit lamps, such as GU10, MR16, PAR, AR111, and ES111 dimmable bulbs, use built-in constant-current driver circuits for stable output, reliable dimming, and better thermal control. Constant-voltage solutions are more common in LED strips or customized lighting modules.

Dimming can help extend LED lifespan because lower brightness reduces operating current and heat. However, actual lifetime also depends on thermal design, ambient temperature, LED chip quality, and driver reliability.

This “ghosting” effect usually happens when a small residual current remains in the circuit, often caused by smart dimmers, illuminated wall switches, or wiring design. Installing a dimming bypass resistor or switching to a 3-wire dimmer with a neutral connection can usually solve this issue.

Manufacturing and Production

Do you support OEM/ODM branding services?

Yes. Tecolite offers OEM/ODM manufacturing for dimmable LED bulbs and spotlight lamps. We can customize wattage, voltage, color temperature, beam angle, housing color, logo marking, and private-label packaging according to your brand or project requirements.

For standard dimmable LED bulb and spotlight orders, production lead time is typically 2-3 weeks. Custom OEM projects, private-label packaging, or large-volume wholesale orders may take 4-6 weeks, depending on material availability and order complexity.

Our MOQ is flexible for standard factory models. For custom packaging, special beam angles, unique housing finishes, or private-label requirements, the MOQ usually starts from 500 to 1,000 units per model.

Tecolite uses reliable, industry-recognized LED chips from selected premium suppliers, depending on product requirements and customer specifications. This helps ensure stable lumen output, good color consistency, and excellent color rendering.

Yes. Tecolite’s manufacturing system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 quality management and ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standards. The certified scope covers the design, production, and sales of LED light sources, supporting stable quality control for our dimmable LED bulb production.

We apply strict IQC, IPQC, and final inspection procedures. Our dimmable LED bulbs undergo full-load aging tests, electrical safety checks, optical testing, and rapid on-off switching checks before packaging to help ensure stable driver and chip performance.

Yes. Tecolite’s main LED bulb series are supported by international compliance documents, including CE, RoHS, CB, EMC, and LVD certifications for selected models. Certification availability may vary by product series, so please contact us for the latest certificates and test reports for your target model.

Through strict quality control, reliable component sourcing, and production testing, Tecolite maintains a low factory defect rate for shipped lighting products. Specific quality targets can be discussed according to product type and order requirements.

Our workshop uses production lines, SMT placement equipment, aging test systems, integrating spheres, and optical testing instruments to support stable manufacturing quality and consistent product performance.
